Honestly, I cannot say I am the hardest worker nor am I a "commited" person but, school and education is still important. I want to challenge myself as much as possible and experience things that others may not be able to do. Taking Dr. Preston's English course as a sophomore, I was scared and nervous all around, I even thought about dropping the class during the first month. Once I talked to as well as listening to Dr. Preston, I noticed, this isn't the typical AP or honors class where students dread and give up on. We actually learned subjects we will need in the future.
I personally love socratic seminars and learning terms. During Socratic seminars, you are able to express your feelings about a subject while incorporating life experiences. When attending the lunch meeting, I freaked out about using technology instead of paper. I am NOT the computer genius but at the same time, it's new and I'm going to have to learn to do more than facebook and youtube.
My goals for the year is to stay on task, and follow through. We all want good grades but we all slack off and procastinate. Just because I'm a senior, I don't want to let the days pass hoping for my diploma to magically show up in my hands. For this course particularly, I want to stand out and improve. To sum it up, I want the A but I am willing to work my butt off. Taking this course will definitely improve my knowledge and thinking by learning the tactics and criteria that will be useful even after college.
